OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2010. A telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, and the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, took place at the American side’s initiative.

The conversation touched on matters relating to the adoption of Russian children by US citizens. There was emphasized on our side the need for the prompt conclusion of a bilateral legally binding agreement which would ensure the protection of the rights, life and health of adopted children and guarantee that incidents like those that happened recently should never recur again. A schedule of upcoming top-level contacts also was discussed.

The Ministers thoroughly reviewed the current situation around the Iranian nuclear program and stated that further steps toward its resolution should be undertaken concertedly, with regard for the opinion of all members of the Six.
