OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2010. A telephone conversation took place on May 25 between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu.

The head of the MFA of Turkey expressed his condolences over the bus crash in the Turkish resort of Antalya today, causing casualties among Russian tourists. Sergey Lavrov underscored the readiness of the Russian side to provide all necessary aid to those injured and assistance to the relatives of the dead. There was noted the urgent need for measures to ensure the safe stay of Russian citizens in Turkey and to increase the responsibility of tour operators for people’s life and health.

The parties reviewed the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear program, and exchanged views on other international problems.

They also discussed some practical issues in Russian-Turkish relations.
