OREANDA-NEWS. June 11, 2010. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul had a telephone conversation on the initiative of the Turkish partners.

Heartily, brotherly greeting each other, the heads of the friendly countries expressed satisfaction with an opportunity to exchange views during a personal conversation on the whole spectrum of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey and the particular international political issues of mutual interest.

Taking an opportunity, the Turkmen leader congratulated the head of the Turkey on the success of the Third Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia that had closed in Istanbul.

Reaffirming the mutual willingness to strengthen the centuries-old ties of friendship and fruitful cooperation built in new historical conditions on an equal and mutually beneficial basis, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkey Abdullah Gul harmonized the approaches to further promoting the traditional intergovernmental dialogue based on the profound economic potential and the reliable foundation of historical, spiritual and cultural affinities of the two nations.

President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul invited President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to visit Turkey during the current year. During the conversation the Turkmen leader confirmed the invitation to his Turkish counterpart to visit Turkmenistan at any convenient time. The invitations were accepted with gratitude. The dates of the visit to Ashgabat and Ankara would be adjusted through diplomatic channels.

In conclusion Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Abdullah Gul exchanged the heartfelt wishes of peace, happiness and wellbeing and expressed the wishes of progress and further prosperity to two brotherly nations.
