OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2010. A delegation led by Jayant Prasad, Deputy Minister of External Affairs the Republic of India is on a visit to Turkmenistan.

The high-ranking representative of the foreign ministry of the friendly country was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan where the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for intensifying bilateral cooperation. As is known, the top-level agreements reached during the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of India this May gave a powerful impetus to develop the traditional intergovernmental dialogue on a long-term mutually advantageous basis.

Underscoring the willingness of the two countries to enhance and expand fruitful partnership developed effectively in the past years in both bilateral and multilateral formats, the participants of the talks discussed the possibilities of implementing important joint projects at national and regional levels in a number of priority fields including in particular the energy, trade, economic and transport sectors.

During the visit to Turkmenistan Jayant Prasad and the members of the Indian government delegation visited the landmarks of the Turkmen capital and its vicinities including the well-known historical and archeological monuments and the museums of the country.
