OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2010. The ceremony of presenting the government awards to our compatriots for a worthy contribution to strengthening sovereignty of Turkmenistan, advancing the national economy and developing all spheres of political and social life took place in Ashgabat. The cabinet ministers, the heads of the Mejlis, ministries and departments, velayat khyakims, foreign scientists and guests attended the ceremony.

Vice Premier T. Japarov informed that the signs of merit and diplomas of foreign states had been awarded to His Excellency, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This news was welcomed with the storm of applause.

Then the floor was given to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan Mohammed Afzal.

On behalf of the Indian people the guest expressed sincere gratitude to the leader of the Turkmen state for an outstanding contribution to developing Turkmen-Indian relations and filling them with a concrete content. The Ambassador emphasized the foreign policy strategy pursued by the Turkmen leader met with wider support all over the world, and the great progress made by the country under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were welcomed and supported worldwide.

Then Mr. Afzal presented the signs of merit to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on behalf of the Strategic Management Society of India and the Centre for Management Studies of Jamia Millia Islamia University.

Then Vice Premier T. Japarov gave the floor to Director of the Institute for Public Management and Community Service of the Florida International University (US), Doctor of Economics, Professor Alan Rozenbaum.

Evaluating highly Turkmenistan’s achievements in consistently systematically reforming the economic, political, cultural, social, scientific and technological mechanisms of the progress of society, the guest put emphasis on President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s role in promoting innovative reforms in the country, which was taking up the increasingly firm positions on the world arena and stood as an active adherent to constructive international cooperation partnership for global progress. Professor Allan Rozenbaum noted that the international community highly evaluated the Turkmen leader’s policy of reforms aimed at achieving the national strategic aims and strengthening global peace that was evidenced by the diploma awarded to His Excellency President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the accomplishments in management reforms.

Then the Vice Premier gave the floor to Chairman of the Board of Lincoln University, Oakland (US) Professor Allan Samson.

Expressing the hearty congratulations on Independence Day to the leader of Turkmenistan and all those present at the ceremony, Professor Allan Samson on behalf of the scientific community of his country expressed belief that an essential component of resolute advancement of the Turkmen state was the fundamental reform of the national economic system launched by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This had predetermined to a larger extent the fate of the state, the dynamic progress of which exceeded all expectations, the guest said expressing ardent support for Turkmenistan’s economic strategy developed by the Turkmen leader.

Mr. Samson presented the diploma of Honorary Doctor of Lincoln University (US) to His Excellency President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his achievements in developing the national education system and the valuable scientific studies.

Thanking cordially the foreign guests for giving the honour to be awarded the titles of honour and diplomas of the well-known research centres, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that he considered this high appreciation of his activity evidence for continuing development of international cooperation by Turkmenistan.

“These signs of merits and diplomas,” the Turkmen leader said, “are high honour and respect for the Turkmen people who take great strides forward their bright future!”
