OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2010. A total of 11.7% of eligible electors (822,500 people) have cast their votes over the three days of early voting, Secretary of the Central Election Commission Nikolai Lozovik said.

So far, 10% of voters cast their ballots in Brest Oblast, 15.8% - in Vitebsk Oblast, 10.6% - in Gomel Oblast, 13.7% - in Grodno Oblast, 10.6% - in Minsk Oblast, 14.3% - in Mogilev Oblast and 9% in the city of Minsk.

According to Nikolai Lozovik, early voting proceeds in a calm atmosphere. “Daily turnout is roughly equal, neither booming nor lagging. The commission is working in accordance with the Electoral Code requirements, conducting all necessary procedures including those additionally envisaged by the CEC,” he added.

A reminder, early voting opened 5 days ahead of the polling day scheduled for 19 December. Polling stations will stay open from 10h00 to 14h00 and 16h00 to 19h00 till 18 December. In order to receive a ballot paper a voter should present a passport or other identification papers such as military service record card, a certificate of employment, a pension certificate or a student identity card (if there is a photo in it), a certificate from the interior bodies (for the citizens who have lost their passports).
