President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE Minister of Presidential Affairs and Khalfan Sultan Al-Ketbi, Special Representative of the President of the United Arab Emirates, who had arrived in the Turkmen capital.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting the guests conveyed the heartfelt greetings from President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who had congratulated the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the fourth anniversary of the presidency and the National Flag Day. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Khalfan Sultan Al-Ketbi emphasized that the United Arab Emirates valued the ties of friendship and brotherhood with the Turkmen people, with whom the people of the UAE had the common historical, cultural and spiritual roots.

Thanking for the kind words, the Turkmen leader said that Turkmenistan also attached considerable importance to strengthening and developing traditionally friendly dialogue with the United Arab Emirates, which was originally built on equality, mutual respect and goodwill. Addressing the best wishes to the leadership of the UAE the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highly evaluated bilateral cooperation and focused with satisfaction on the effectiveness of bilateral relations filled with a new content with every passing year.

Exchanging views on the prospects for further collaboration, the President and his guests reaffirmed that the two countries were committed to full cooperation that was positively intensified by regular top level meetings and talks and exchange of visits at various levels. In this context, emphasis was put on the profound potential for mutually advantageous trade and economic cooperation, the existence of most favourable requisites to enhance effective contacts across a broad spectrum of fields, including the fuel and energy, transport and communications, industrial, tourism and other sectors. No less important was development of traditional cultural ties and mutually beneficial concerted efforts in the spheres of education, science and culture.

It was noted that the vast opportunities to diversify productive cooperation were opened up within ongoing long-term development programme and large-scale investment projects in Turkmenistan. In this regard, the guests emphasized that the UAE’s business circles were keenly interested in the very promising Turkmen market due to the favourable investment climate and the scale of reforms initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to fundamentally modernize social and economic infrastructure in Turkmenistan, improve the quality and standards of life of people.

Upon concluding the meeting, the Turkmen leader and the high-ranking officials from the UAE expressed belief that friendly and brotherly relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE would be enhanced and expanded further for the benefit of the two states and nations.
