OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2011. Dmitry Medvedev had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

The two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation and gave a high assessment to its progress, specifically in trade and economy.

They also had a detailed, in-depth exchange of views on international affairs, focusing on the dramatic events in North Africa, the Middle East, and the Persian Gulf, and their potential impact on the situation in other parts of the world.

Besides, Dmitry Medvedev and Islam Karimov reviewed certain issues of relevance to the Central Asia.

The Presidents agreed to continue consultations in both bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the CSTO framework.
