OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2011. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov made a working visit to the Republic of South Ossetia on April 25.

During his visit, Lavrov held talks with President Eduard Kokoity and other South Ossetian leaders to discuss issues in bilateral relations, assistance to South Ossetia in the socioeconomic sphere and cooperation in international affairs and in the realm of regional security

At the end of the visit, intergovernmental agreements on the establishment and conditions of activity of information and cultural centers were signed. There was an exchange of notes containing the notification of completion of the internal procedures required for the intergovernmental visa-free travel agreement to take effect. The visit also saw the signing of intergovernmental agreements on the principles of cooperation and conditions of interrelations in the area of transport and on cooperation in the area of air search and rescue.
