OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2011. A delegation of the People’s Republic of China led by Director of the Institute for Social Development of Eurasia under the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Li Feng Lin is on a visit to Turkmenistan during these days.

Our guests visited Turkmenbashi town, where they held a meeting at the Committee for the Avaza National Tourism Zone and saw the prospects for further development of the littoral town and facilities built in the resort area on the Caspian seashore. Focusing on the existing tremendous potential to expand Turkmen-Chinese partnership in the tourism sector, the meeting participants discussed the possibilities to involve leading Chinese companies in implementing this promising project.

The members of the Chinese delegation were received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting the guests were briefed on the major aspects and priorities of the policy of the Turkmen state and the ongoing large-scale reforms and programmes launched throughout the country on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Stating with satisfaction that in recent years Turkmenistan and China had significantly intensified relations in the political, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and other spheres, the participants called for furthering strategic partnerships in all fields.

The Chinese delegation had the meetings at the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan, the Institute of State and Law under the President of Turkmenistan and the Institute of Strategic Planning and Economic Development during the visit to Turkmenistan.

The guests also visited cultural and historical landmarks of Turkmenistan, in particular the Main National Museum in the Turkmen capital.
