Key aspects of bilateral relations were touched upon, with emphasis on the completion of the process of the accession of Russia to the WTO and the continuation of the dialogue on US missile defense plans and their influence on strategic stability.

In examining the international agenda, the main attention was devoted to the situation in the Middle East and North Africa. The Russian side underscored the need to intensify efforts towards a politico-diplomatic settlement of the problems associated with Iran’s nuclear program.
