OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2012. The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev had a telephone conversation.

Greeting the Turkmen leader Chairman of the Russian Government cordially congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with his birthday and wished him good health, prosperity and score big success in his noble work for the happiness and prosperity of the Turkmen people.

Thanking for the congratulations, the President of Turkmenistan confirmed the commitment of the age-old relations of friendship between the two nations and underlined that cooperation with Russian Federation has been and remains one of the priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy.

During the conversation the President of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation discussed the most important issues of intergovernmental cooperation, as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest.

Both sides shared their views one to another for the most important issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects for further development. Noting the high level of traditionally friendly relations between the two peoples, the centuries-old history is now going through a new rise; both sides expressed readiness for the maturing of mutually beneficial partnership for important directions. Particularly was noted the importance of bilateral meetings and negotiations organized on the highest level on regular basis within last time as well as exchanges of delegations at the governmental and parliamentary levels.

The humanitarian sphere was also indicated as an important issue of bilateral cooperation in the course of this conversation. In this regard the Turkmen leader and Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation stated in order for the intensification of cultural, scientific and educational contacts. Also the parties underlined the importance of implementation of new joint projects to use them for the existing potential of partnership and contribute to further consolidation of traditional fiduciary relationships.

In conclusion the Turkmen leader and Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation expressed confidence that the constructive intergovernmental dialogue will continue to be inherent in the spirit of trust, openness and mutual understanding and addressed one to another wishes for health and success, and peace and prosperity to the two peoples.
