OREANDA-NEWS. As was reported, the Turkmen-Turkish top-level talks took place in Ashgabat on May 30. The sides adopted the decisions on important practical issues of bilateral cooperation prioritizing implementation of large-scale joint investment projects and intensification of contacts given mutual interests as well as the global agenda and ongoing global processes. Particular attention was paid to building up partnership between the foreign ministries, financial and other agencies of the two countries as well as in the humanitarian sphere. The Turkmen-Turkish talks designed new formats to foster the interstate dialogue in such key sectors of economy as energy, trade and agriculture and an exchange of information between various ministries. The bilateral agreements concluded in Ashgabat covered cooperation on youth and sports and the protection of cultural heritage.

During the visit of the Turkish distinguished guest to Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Abdullah Gul visited the Ahalteke Horse Breeding Complex located at the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains. The members of the government delegation of the Republic of Turkey and representatives of the mass media of Turkmenistan and Turkey were the guests to the Ahalteke Horse Breeding Complex as well.

The leader of Turkmenistan presented a beautiful Ahalteke horse to his Turkish counterpart in token of respect and sincere friendship between the two nations. 'A brother' is the translation of 'Arkadash' - the name of the horse presented to President Abdullah Gul. The Turkmen leader suggested that the President of Turkey would ride the horse to make sure of its superior skills and temper. Expressing sincere gratitude for the wonderful present , the President of Turkey asked the leader of Turkmenistan, known also as a brilliant rider, to demonstrate Arkadash's qualities.

In the competition with two other fast horses Arkadash was the first to run 1,200 metres in 1 minute 25 seconds. The spectators applauded the Turkmen leader for his brilliant horsemanship.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Abdullah Gul watched the exhibition and exercising of elite Ahalteke horses and a performance of the dzhigits of the Galkynysh equestrian sports group. Talking to the famous Turkmen artists, President Abdullah Gul invited the Galkynysh group to go on tour to Turkey. Then the two leaders had a photo with the members of the Galkynysh group taken in commemoration of the remarkable meeting.

After visiting the Ahalteke Horse Breeding Complex, the leaders of Turkmenistan and Turkey warmly and brotherly bade to each other, expressing satisfaction with the results of the top-level talks.

President Abdullah Gul had a meeting with Turkish businessmen, who worked in Turkmenistan, at the Mizan Business Centre in Ashgabat. Then President Abdullah Gul visited the Ertogrulgazy Mosque, the largest mosque in the Turkmen capital. Together with other believers there the distinguished guest offered a Friday prayer, taking part in the midday prayer.

In the afternoon President Abdullah Gul held a press conference with representatives of the mass media of Turkmenistan at the Oguzkent Hotel. The leader of the Republic of Turkey highly evaluated the results of his state visit to our country. The strategic fields of long-term partnership particularly include the energy sector as spotlighted in the bilateral documents signed in Ashgabat.

President Abdullah Gul noted that Turkmen-Turkish relations had good prospects for development in many fields of cooperation, such as the trade, finance, agro-industrial, construction, humanitarian and legal sectors. After the press conference the Turkish leader left the Oguzkent Hotel.
