OREANDA-NEWSEarly voting in the elections to the House of Representatives (lower house) of the National Assembly of Belarus began on Tuesday at almost 5.6 thousand polling stations. This was reported to the Russian media in the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus. "Early voting will be held from November 12 to 16, polling stations will be open for voting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (local time, the same as Moscow time)", the CEC said.

According to him, 5831 polling stations were formed in the elections of deputies of the House of Representatives, 238 of them in sanatoriums, dispensaries, rest homes, hospitals and other health organizations providing medical care in stationary conditions where early voting is not held. In accordance with Belarusian law, an voter who is unable to stay at his place of residence on an election day may take part in early voting. In this case, official confirmation of the reasons for the inability of the voter to come to the polling station on election day is not required, the CEC explained.

In the parliamentary elections in 2016, 31.29% of Belarusian voters on the voting lists participated in early voting. On the first day of early will, 3.92% of voters came to the ballot box.
