OREANDA-NEWS. Chinese authorities plan to impose retaliatory sanctions against the USA after American President Donald Trump signed documents on introducing measures to put pressure on Beijing in connection with the situation in Hong Kong.

This was reported by the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Hua Chunying. “We urge the US side to immediately reverse the decision and stop making any statements and commit acts that harm the interests of China. The Chinese side will react further in accordance with the development of the situation,” the diplomat said.

On July 14, Trump announced that he had signed a law on sanctions against China in connection with the situation in Hong Kong, a decree on the abolition of US economic and trade preferences for this territory, as well as a document depriving Hong Kong of the status of special administrative region.
