OREANDA-NEWS. The European Union has announced that it does not recognize the results of the local elections held on September 13 in Crimea, which it continues to regard as the territory of Ukraine, and does not consider the members of local authorities elected there as representatives of Crimea and Sevastopol.

Anyone who was elected in these Russian-organized elections in Crimea will not be recognized by the European Union as a representative of these territories, which are part of Ukraine, Monday statement by the EU says.

As with all similar statements that the EU circulates after every election held in Crimea since its reunification with Russia in 2014, a document repeats the phrase claiming that the European Union will continue to provide unwavering support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
