OREANDA-NEWS. The Presnensky District Court of Moscow has decided to arrest former deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Denis Volchek, accused of attempted fraud.

The ex-parliamentarian was sent under arrest till June 22, 2020. He is charged under Part 3 of Article 30 (preparation for a crime and attempted crime) and Part 4 of Article 159 (fraud) of the Criminal Code.

RBC news agency reports that earlier, sources in the Investigative Committee of Russia told that Volchek is suspected of attempted fraud in the amount of 8 million roubles (about 107 thousand US dollars). The investigators suggest that Volchek and businessman Zurab Pliev proposed to a man named Andrey Rozov to prevent the institution of criminal proceedings against him.
