OREANDA-NEWS. Refat Chubarov, the  former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, at present the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People (organization recognized as extremist in Russia) said on the air of the Ukrainian Fifth Channel that his supporters intend to cross the border with Crimea at one of the checkpoints on May 2.

According to him, the march will be led by members of the Mejlis, as well as deputies of Ukrainian parliament and “Western partners.” Chubarov did not exclude a forceful scenario of the development of events connected with a breakthrough into the peninsula.

Russian State Duma deputy Ruslan Balbek believes that the announced march is a gesture of despair and an illustration of political impotence. “The statement of the leaders of the Mejlis about the upcoming political march towards the Crimean border is a gesture of despair, a demonstration of overt political impotence. Refat Chubarov and his supporters bother all, including the president of Ukraine, who deprived them of funding because he does not see the results of work,” Balbek said.
