OREANDA-NEWS. Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi stated that the supply of American apparatus for artificial lung ventilation to Russia at no cost is impractical. “Russia can very well afford to pay for these ventilators,” the politician said in an interview with CNN, adding that in this case the supply of the equipment worth more than 5 million dollars for free is unacceptable.

On May 18, it became known that US President Donald Trump’s administration intends to send 200 ventilation devices to Russia to help the fight against the coronavirus infection’s spread. Russian media reported, citing a source in the Trump’s administration, that US President proposed donating ventilators in response to a request from Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Military transport aircraft should bring the first 50 ventilators to Russia on May 20. The rest is planned to be sent on May 26.
