OREANDA-NEWS. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, responding at a briefing to a question from journalists about the transfer of power to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, said that a smooth transfer of power to the second administration of the incumbent head of state Donald Trump would take place soon.

“The world should have every confidence that the transition necessary to make sure that the State Department is functional today, successful today and successful with the president who’s in office on January 20 a minute after noon,” Pompeo said, adding that Trump’s supporters are going to count all the votes.

Commenting on Trump’s words who claimed that he would have won the election if only legitimate votes were counted, State Secretary said: “We must count every legal vote. We must make sure that any vote that wasn’t lawful not be counted.”

Democrat, the member of the House from Virginia State, former CIA officer, Abigail Spanberger, said that Pompeo’s words about the transfer of power jeopardize US global leadership and called them shameful and dangerous.
