OREANDA-NEWS. Kazakhstan actively cooperates with Russia and Belarus, but does not intend to join the Union State created by them. This was stated by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in an interview with the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda.

The politician explained that he considers the development of integration with these countries within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to be a priority.

According to Tokayev, the strengthening of the economic potential of the EAEU, turning it into an “effective structure on a global scale” is of great interest to Kazakhstan. President pointed out that work in this sphere is currently underway, and by 2025 the Union’s common energy and financial markets should appear.
