OREANDA-NEWS. President of Kyrgyzstan, Sooronbay Jeenbekov, held a telephone conversation with the speaker of the Supreme Council, Myktybek Abdyldayev. This was reported by the portal 24.kg with reference to the press service of the head of state. One of the topics of the talks was the possible impeachment of the President.

“During the talks, the issue of impeachment was also raised, which is being discussed in the parliament. The President stressed that now he sees an important issue… to return the situation to the legal field, make personnel appointments, and fulfil his mission within the framework of constitutional powers. After that, Sooronbay Jeenbekov will be ready to discuss this and other remaining issues, including those concerning him,” the presidential press service informed.

At the same time, Jeenbekov stressed that he, as President, and the Supreme Council are the legitimate authorities in the country, and their task is to “speed up the process of returning to the legal field and take the country out of the waiting mode.”
