OREANDA-NEWS. All Russia is responsible for the situation that developed in the Chechen Republic in the 1990s. This opinion was expressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the public on agriculture and rural areas on December 23.

The politician explained that he talked a lot with the first president of the Caucasus republic, Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, in particular about his participation in illegal armed groups. Kadyrov stated that at that time in Chechnya it was necessary either to be a member of a gang, or to have your own gang, because it was impossible to live differently.

“It was probably not so much their fault but our common fault of Russia, which brought them to such a situation,” the Russian leader emphasized.

Earlier, on December 19, Putin told that Kadyrov himself came to him to establish relations with Moscow. The Russian leader noted that the first president of the Chechen Republic was murdered by terrorists in the fight for Russia.
