OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans to go to the United Nations General Assembly in September and meet with American leader Donald Trump there.

This was announced by the representative of the Kremlin administration, Dmitry Peskov. “As far as I understand, these are not official statements, these are some kind of newspaper reflections. There are no substantive plans in this regard, for a trip to New York and, accordingly, for a meeting with Trump,” Peskov said.

The Times previously reported about the possible meeting of the two presidents without specifying the source of information. According to the publication, Trump wants to meet with Putin. The newspaper informed that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke about the American President’s desire during a conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
