OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin is not offended by criticism of himself, as there are always people who think differently. He told about it on June 21 in an interview for the film project "Russia. Kremlin. Putin" on TV channel Russia-1.

"No, I have got used to it," he said in an interview when asked if he felt insulted by unbridled criticism.

Criticism is "inevitable," Putin added, as any society develops under such laws. "It is natural for any society. There always are people who think differently".

The Russian leader also expressed confidence that protecting the national interests of the country implies finding compromises acceptable to partners. Putin reminded that defending the interests of the country and Russian citizens is part of his job. "This is what I've always proceeded from and I'm going from," Vladimir Putin said.

Russian President admitted that at a certain period of its development, Russia "did not dare to declare its national interests" and started doing so in the early 2000s.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that it was indecent for Russian officials to show off their welfare at a time when hundreds of thousands of people live much poorly in the country.
