OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed launching the project named Accessible Internet, which will provide free access of citizens to “socially significant” domestic resources. The politician announced it in his annual address to the Federal Assembly.

The head of state emphasized that the connection to such websites should be free for users, they should not have to pay for traffic. According to Putin, it will become a competitive advantage of Russia, create new opportunities for education, creative work, communication and people’s participation in the life of the country.

The President recalled that Russia is one of the few countries in the world which has its own social networks, messengers, postal services and search engines, as well as other national Internet resources.
