OREANDA-NEWS. Russia has answered questions from 45 countries on the poisoning of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, and sent through the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). This was stated on Thursday, October 7, in an interview with TASS by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the OPCW, Alexander Shulgin.

«The provisions of this article stipulate that answers must be given within 10 days, that is, by October 15. The Russian Federation gave an exhaustive answer today that is, two days later», Shulgin said, calling the answer «worthy» and «verified from a legal point of view».

In addition to the answers, Russia, according to Shulgin, sent counter-questions to the countries «concerning this murky story and their role in the play directed by themselves».A group of 45 countries, including Germany, the UK and Canada, October 5, urged Russia to provide answers to questions about the poisoning of opposition politician Alexei Navalny. These countries have not yet commented on the Russian response.

Representatives of the German Ministry of Justice have repeatedly stated that they responded to Russia's legal requests in the Navalny case and, in particular, handed over the protocols of the interrogation of the politician by the Berlin prosecutor's office there.

«All the necessary data for the start of criminal proceedings, such as blood samples, fabrics and clothes of Navalny, are at the disposal of Russia», said, in particular, a representative of the ministry in January 2021. In Russia, however, the investigation into the poisoning of Navalny has not actually begun.
