OREANDA-NEWS. Spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova claimed that Ukraine is preparing a provocation in Crimea on May 3.

“Now a new provocation is being prepared, a certain March to the Crimea scheduled for May 3. Its organizers from so called Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People (Organization banned in Russia. – Ed.) are going to break, in the literal sense of the word, into the peninsula across the Russian state border,” the diplomat said. “By escalating the situation around the Crimean peninsula, the European Union continues the inhumane practice of visa discrimination against Crimeans, which contradicts not only key international standards in the sphere of human rights, but also a number of fundamental documents of the EU itself,” Zakharova added.

Earlier, the ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov said that the organization’s members, parliamentarians and “Western partners” intend to cross the border with Crimea in early May.
