OREANDA-NEWS. The Government of the Russian Federation determined the permissible share of foreign workers in different sectors of the economy in 2020. The decree was signed by the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

In some spheres the authorities have maintained the norms established for 2019. In the areas of “other land passenger and road freight transport,” the permissible share of migrants is fixed at 26 % of the total number of employees, in growing vegetables it is 50 %, in construction it is 80 %. However, the construction norm does not apply to the territory of Moscow, Dagestan, Buryatia and the Amur Region.

Next year, the migrants will not be able to work in retail trade in non-stationary points of sale, in drugstores, marketplaces, as well as in other points outside stores and markets – in these categories, the permissible share of foreigners established by the government is zero.

“The decisions which were made are necessary to regulate the attraction of foreign labor in certain types of economic activity, taking into account regional characteristics of the labor market and the need for the employment of Russian citizens as a priority,” the government website says commenting the document.

According to the statistic data of the border service, for the first half of 2019, 2.4 million foreigners came to Russia to work. They are mainly the citizens of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Uzbekistan became the leader in the number of arrivals – 918 thousand people came from this country. 523.9 thousand arrived from Tajikistan, 265 thousand from Kyrgyzstan, 164 thousand from Ukraine, 105.3 thousand from Kazakhstan.
