OREANDA-NEWS. Switzerland, following the European Union and the United Kingdom, imposed sanctions on individuals and businesses involved in the construction of the Crimean bridge.

"The Federal economic administration has made changes to the list of persons attached to the order on measures to prevent circumvention of international sanctions related to the situation in Ukraine. Two individuals and four legal entities have been added to the app," the Swiss State Secretariat of Economics reports.

The Ministry's report notes that the sanctions came into force on October 15 at 19.00 Moscow time.

In early October, the European Union added two individuals and four organizations to the list of individual sanctions for Ukraine. The list was completed by the General Director of JSC "Grand Service Express" Alexander Ganov, as well as the Deputy head of LLC "SGM" Leonid Regency. Among the companies under the sanctions were Lenpromtransproekt JSC, Berkakit-Tommot-Yakutsk railway construction Directorate JSC, Crimean railway FSUE and Crimean first insurance company. Later, Britain imposed sanctions against these individuals and institutions.

In September, the European Union published another decision to extend individual anti-Russian sanctions imposed in 2014 after the reunification of Crimea with Russia.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum in which more than 96% of participants supported reunification with Russia. President Vladimir Putin stressed that the issue of Crimea's ownership is finally closed.
