OREANDA-NEWS. On April 23, the Constitutional Court of Moldova suspended the entry into force of the law on the receiving a loan from Russia in the amount of 200 million euros.

The opposition parliament group Pro Moldova appealed to the Court with a request to consider whether the agreement on obtaining a loan from the Russian Federation corresponds to the provisions of the republic’s Constitution. Despite this, the Moldovan parliament decided to approve drawing up.

At the same time, judges suspended entry into force of Law No. 57 of April 23, 2020 on ratification of the agreement between the governments of the two countries until the Constitutional Court gives assessment of the document.

On April 17, the Moldovan government adopted a draft revision of the law on the state budget for current year because of the epidemiological situation. The budget deficit will amount to about 900 million US dollars.
