OREANDA-NEWS. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the resignation of Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk. 353 deputies voted for the dismissal of the head of government, no one voted nay, 49 parliamentarians abstained. The decision was made at extraordinary parliamentary meeting, which was appointed on February 28 by the President of Ukraine.

Before the vote in the Rada, President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a speech. “This government knows what to do, but knowing is not enough: it is necessary to work. We must not be afraid of the truth, we must admit mistakes,” the head of state said.

Honcharuk explained that six months is too short time to evaluate the work of the government. According to him, the media began to criticize the work of his cabinet after it exposed the semi-legal schemes working in the country.
