OREANDA-NEWS. The team of the incumbent US President Donald Trump went to court to suspend the counting of votes in the state of Georgia. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to Associated Press. Trump’s headquarters believes that Republican observers were not given the opportunity to control the procedure for opening the ballot boxes and counting of votes.

Associated Press, citing the head of Georgia’s election commission, Brad Raffensperger, informs that there are about 200 thousand ballots left to be counted. According to preliminary data, in this state Trump is slightly ahead of his rival from the Democratic Party, Joe Biden. Since 1992, Georgia has voted for Republicans.

Georgia became the third state where Trump demanded that the counting be stopped. Before that, similar claims were sent to the courts of Michigan and Pennsylvania. Trump also plans to achieve a revision of the election results in Wisconsin, where Biden won by a margin of 0.7 %.

The Democratic candidate said that he would not yet announce his victory in the presidential election, but he does not doubt it.
