OREANDA-NEWS. Anton Kornievich, the Resident Representative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in the Crimea, says in an interview with Segodnya newspaper that the Kiev officials are considering the possibility of creating an international platform for negotiating the status of Crimea with the participation of European countries, the United States and Turkey.

According to him, the Crimea ”must be kept on the agenda of the world community.” Kornievich notes that it would be good to have the resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and other international organizations. “But if we can go further and create this platform at the international level, we are ready to participate in it actively,” the politician said.

Kornievich states that nowadays there is no platform for discussing the Crimea problem because of the position of Russia, which refuses to negotiate this matter.

The journalist asked Kornievich what format of a conversation about the return of Crimea he spoke about, and he answered that there is no single recipe, but the question should be discussed, however. “Will it be “Budapest +”?” Maybe. Yes, because these states have guaranteed our security. Will it be “Normandy +”? It is possible because these states have been already involved in resolving the situation in Donbass. We should add Turkey, and make the participation of the USA more active. This matter can be discussed. But first of all Ukraine should offer such an initiative.”
