OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba considers the meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Crimea unthinkable now; however, he called the condition under which it is possible.

On Monday, Putin took part in the laying of two landing ships at the plant in Kerch. Zelensky, according to Ukrainian media, is on the island of Biryuchiy in the Kherson Region near the Crimea. Thus, some reporters suggested that Putin and Zelensky may hold a secret meeting.

“A meeting in Crimea between President Zelensky and Putin is possible during the ceremony of removing the Russian flag and raising the Ukrainian flag there in connection with the restoration of Ukraine’s full sovereignty over the temporarily occupied Crimea. Unfortunately, I do not know anything about Russia’s readiness to hold such a ceremony,” Kuleba said at a briefing on July 21. According to him, in this situation, a meeting of the leaders of the two states is “unthinkable,” since Putin came to Crimea to strengthen the military presence on the occupied peninsula.
