OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed the hope that the truce in Donbass will be respected, and assured that Kiev is doing everything possible for this.

“We are seeking to ensure that the regime of silence is not violated. But everything is possible, this is life. If everything depended only on our side, I am sure that there would be a principled regime of silence, and we would move to the next steps, the next steps for ending war,” Zelensky said during a conversation with the media during a trip to Donbass.

“I can’t guarantee anything, but we are doing everything, both in Ukraine and at meetings in the Minsk format, during videoconferences of the Trilateral Contact Group. We will continue to hope for the best,” Zelensky added.

Earlier, additional measures to ensure a ceasefire came into effect in Donbass. The commander of the Ukrainian troops, Volodymyr Kravchenko, previously spoke about violation of the truce. The officials of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination called this statement a provocation.
