US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on combating the threat related to the messenger WeChat, setting 45 days to complete transactions connected to this mobile application from China. All transactions with the company Tencent made more than 45 days after the signing of the decree are prohibited.

Before that, the White House announced the signing of a similar order to combat the application TikTok.

WeChat is a messenger, social media, and electronic payment program developed by the giant of the Chinese communications industry, Tencent Holdings. The number of its users is estimated at over 1 billion.

Trump accused WeChat of collecting data on Americans that could allow spying, blackmailing, and tracking of individuals and companies in the United States.
