OREANDA-NEWS. US Senators Lindsey Graham and Robert Menendez amended the bill “Defending American Security from Kremlin Aggression Act”, defining the conditions for the introduction and lifting of anti-Russian sanctions.

According to the document, which Graham previously called “sanctions bill from hell,” restrictive measures should be applied for interference in the internal affairs of the USA and aggression against Ukraine.

In the first case, sanctions will be imposed after intelligence service and the State Department of USA submit a report confirming Moscow’s interference in American politics. If the results of the report indicate otherwise, this will lead to the lifting of restrictive measures.

Sanctions due to Ukraine are supposed to be introduced on a similar basis. Within 45 days after signing the bill, intelligence service and the State Department should determine whether Russia is conducting or supporting military operations against a neighboring state.
