OREANDA-NEWS. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the resumption of participation of the national delegation in the work of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in 2020. The resolution was supported by 347 deputies with the minimum required 226. Members of the Rada will begin work at the PACE winter session on January 27 in Strasbourg.

The text of the document, published on the parliament’s website, states that the Kiev delegation to PACE intends to “prevent the existing situation in Europe resulting from Russia’s aggressive foreign policy” and “objectively inform EU members about illegal acts in the occupied territories”.

The Ukrainian parliament also called on the Council of Europe to involve Russia in fulfilling its international obligations, including those related to the observance of the principles of international law, including “territorial integrity and inviolability of borders in Europe”.
