OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Justice of Russia received a notification from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) about the filing of a claim by the Netherlands against Moscow in connection with the crash of flight MH17.

“The composition of the court and the procedure for considering a complaint to the ECHR is currently not defined, any procedural timeframes for the Russian authorities have not been established,” the press service of the Ministry informed.

The fact that the Strasbourg Court registered a claim of the Netherlands against Russia in connection with the crash of passenger airliner Boeing in Ukraine in 2014 became known on July 15, 2020.

The incident was investigated by the Joint Investigation Team under the leadership of the Dutch Public Prosecution Service without participation of the Russian side. Moscow was accused of delivering to Donbass an air defense missile system, which shot the plane down.
