OREANDA-NEWS. The House of Representatives (lower house) of the National Assembly of Belarus ratified the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Russia on the mutual recognition of visas and on other issues related to the entry of foreigners and stateless persons into the territory of the states parties to the Treaty on the Creation of a Union State.

The agreement determines that foreign citizens and stateless persons will have the right to enter, leave, stay, follow in transit through the territory of Belarus and Russia on the basis of a visa of one of the countries and identity documents, the state news agency BelTA quoted the words of Olga Petrashova, deputy head of the commission of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament on international affairs.

The agreement was signed on June 19 in Minsk by the foreign ministers of the two countries. Now the document should be approved by the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament, after which it will be sent to the country's President for signature.
