OREANDA-NEWS. According to the operative data, in January-September 2006 Russia increased export of iron ore raw material by 17,9 % - up to 17 million tons in comparison with January-September 2005.

According to the Interfax-Ukraine, it was noted in the concern “Rudprom” uniting the majority of enterprises-manufacturers of iron ore raw material in the Russian Federation, that 5,85 million tons of concentrate (24,8 % growth in comparison with nine months 2005), 9,86 million tons of pellets (growth by 16,7 %), 498 thousand tons of sintering ore (reduction by 5,3 %), briquettes - 792 thousand tons (growth by 3,9 %) has been exported.

In the overseas countries deliveries totalled 15,05 million tons that makes about 88,2 % of all iron ore raw material exported by the Russian Federation. Including 4,95 million tons of concentrate, 9,71 million tons of pellets and 390 thousand tons of ferriferous briquettes has been exported to the overseas countries.

For the period under review, Russia also exported to Ukraine 1,86 million tons of commodity iron ore, including sintering ore - 498 thousand tons, concentrate - 903 thousand tons, briquettes - 402 thousand tons.

The enterprises of mining-metallurgical complex of Russia have increased manufacture of commodity iron ore in January-September 2006 by 8 % in comparison with January-September 2005 - up to 77,29 million tons.
