In Russia new dangerous types of ticks have been discovered that can cause the plague
"The detected parasites belong to two families — Spinturnicidae and Macronyssidae," RIA Novosti quotes the work.
It is noted that the first species is known as a carrier of bartonellosis, the second — tick-borne encephalitis, borreliosis, West Nile fever, plague and other dangerous diseases.
Earlier, the Rospotrebnadzor of the Moscow region reported that by the end of April, 1072 people had suffered from tick bites.
Also, infectious disease specialist Maria Ilyina told about possible symptoms of tick-borne encephalitis.
