OREANDA-NEWS After suffering from coronavirus, patients may experience memory and mental disorders. This was stated by the head of the neurogeriatrics laboratory of the Russian Gerontological Research and Clinical Center of the N. I. Pirogov University, neurologist Helen Mkhitaryan.

The expert said that the coronavirus clings to the receptors of the brain, causing temporary disturbances. "There are really a lot of these receptors in the brain. I personally deal with memory disorders. And one of the main complaints that remains after the COVID-19," explained Mkhitaryan.

According to her, even after a very mild course, patients who had been ill with COVID-19 complained of memory disorders that prevented them from working.
