OREANDA-NEWS Approximately 62 percent of Russians believe that the ban on mobile phones in schools will have a positive impact on the educational process.

 These are the data of a poll conducted by the VTsIOM among 1600 residents over 18 years of age.

But there are nuances. According to TASS, in general, support for the ban on smartphones has slightly decreased over the past year.

“The share of Russians who support the ban on mobile phones in classes has decreased (from 73 to 67 percent) and believes that the abolition of gadgets will have a positive impact on the educational process (from 69 to 62 percent),” according to the VTsIOM study.

In general, the idea of ​​a ban is supported by more women than men: for example, among women, the level of support is 70 percent. In addition, Russians more often in favor of the ban are aged between 35 and 44 years old (70 percent) and between 45 and 59 years old (72 percent). Moms and dads, whose children have no mobile phones, are also mostly in favor of a ban (84 percent). In general, among parents of schoolchildren, the level of approval of such a ban is 67 percent.

At the same time, 55 percent of respondents do not support an absolute ban on smartphones on school grounds. Basically, we are talking about classes.

The exception is the representatives of the older age group 60+ (53 percent).
