OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2013. In 2012, Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Radio, Film and Television explores new channels of cultural communication with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. It organizes and implements 198 cultural communication projects which contain 61 visits of 1100 persons to more than 20 countries and regions, and reception of 137 visits of 2299 persons. It also introduces more than 100 shows and exhibitions. In general, Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Radio, Film and Television gains remarkable achievement in coordinating with national diplomatic situation and promoting Chinese culture and opening of Chongqing.

First of all, Chongqing embellishes it image through tour. Chongqing participates in the "Happy Spring Festival" tour which is the key cultural project of national level. It sends many excellent cultural items, such as acrobatics, Sichuan Opera, exhibition of intangible heritage, antique exhibition and cultural lectures to the U.S., France, Japan, India, Benin, Congo (Congo-Brazzaville), Hong Kong and other countries and regions for the purpose of cultural communication. The delegation of Chongqing has toured around one tenth of the over 80 countries where the "Happy Spring Festival" tour visits. It not only promotes Chinese culture effectively, but also enhances global influence and status of Chongqing. It is a successful cultural communication.

Secondly, Chongqing extends communication with its sister cities. "Overseas-Chongqing" Cultural Week launched since 2010 has become a symbolic brand of foreign cultural exchange of Chongqing. The "Chongqing Cultural Week" has been hold in the Sevierville of U.S., Wales of British, Bangkok of Thailand and Dьsseldorf of Germany in succession. In 2012, by the change of construction of the Eurasia Railway Link between Chongqing and Europe, the sister city Dьsseldorf holds the "Chongqing Cultural Week" in Germany. In the occasion, Chongqing and Dьsseldorf sign a series of cooperation agreements.

The third achievement is the cooperation between municipal government and national government. Chongqing is one of the first batch of the cities and provinces awarded to cooperate with national government to conduct foreign cultural exchange activities. It is in charge of the implementation of the two-year bilateral cultural agreements signed by Chinese government and the governments of Benin and Cameroon. In 2012, Chongqing undertakes all the activates of China Cultural Centre of Benin and builds the brand of "Benin-Chongqing Cultural Year" successfully; it also signs cooperation contract with Mexican to hold "Mexican-Chongqing Cultural Year" in 2013.

The forth one is the rise of cultural trade. In 2012, Chongqing achieves foreign trade value of USD 30 million on cultural industry, which is the highest ever. The objective country of cultural export is Japan, South Korea, UAE, Egypt, the U.S. and Hong Kong etc. Chongqing acrobatics has been performed more than 1000 times in commercial shows of overseas market, which attract more than 1 million audience and gains export value of RMB 6.9 million; export value of Rongchang grass linen, the intangible cultural heritage reaches USD 21.13 million; the native cartoon Lele Bear's Detectives has been exported to eastern Europe, southeast Asia, western Asia and Hong Kong, which achieves trade value of USD 1.12 million.
