OREANDA-NEWS From June 1, Sberbank will charge reduced bonuses in the loyalty program "SberSpasibo" on some categories of goods. This was reported by RBC. This decision was made due to the reduction of the acquiring commission at the request of the Central Bank, is told in the material Lenta.ru.

Reduced acquiring fees apply to retail sales of food, consumer goods, including clothing, fuel, medical products and medicines, as well as services in communications, housing, medicine, education, culture, tourism and passenger transportation.

After the Central Bank decision on the regulation of the acquiring commission has already reduced the size of the cashback a number of major banks, including "Tinkoff", Rosbank, "Russian Standard" and Gazprombank. Also, from May 16, Raiffeisenbank will reduce the size of the cashback. Experts warned that the reduction of the acquiring commission may lead to a temporary reduction in rewards for cashless purchases. This was the case in 2020, when the Central Bank set an acquiring fee of 1 percent for purchases at online stores to support businesses in a pandemic.

The changes will be in effect until August 31, 2022. It is possible that when the restrictions from the Central Bank expire, credit institutions may return the previous amount of bonuses.
