OREANDA-NEWS. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was the main initiator of a new round of conflict in the unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated on October 6 by the Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. “He supports terrorists in Libya, and he was the main instigator and initiator of the recent conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, in Nagorno-Karabakh,” the politician said.

Last week, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Moscow has information about the transfer of foreign fighters to Libya assisted by Turkey.

During negotiations with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Erdogan claimed that Armenia should leave the “occupied Azerbaijani territory.”

According to Yerevan, Turkey is helping Azerbaijan. On September 29, the press secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, reported that a Turkish fighter F-16 shot down an Armenian aircraft Su-25.

Turkey denied this information, but Erdogan promised to provide Azerbaijan with any assistance if necessary.
