OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2008. At the beginning of the cabinet meeting the Prime Minister of Georgia Vladimer Gurgenidze congratulated the audience on the occasion of the victory of the Georgian Rugby team in a match with he team of the Russian Federation that took place in Krasnoyarsk; and in which our National Team won the Cup of the European Nations. The prime minister gave orders to the Ministry of Culture, Monument Protection and Sport of Georgia to find the resources  in order to award the Georgian National Team with 100.000 GEL for such an outstanding achievement.

Then the prime minister of Georgia briefed the audience on his visit in the Kingdom of Bahrain on April 9-10. He emphasized that meetings were held with interesting investors and they will be visiting Georgia in a short while; he expressed his satisfaction on opening a financial center in Georgia. Bahrain accomplished it about 20-25 years ago and has been following this liberal model since then. In total, there are 500.000 citizens in Bahrain, but the GDP of that country is twice higher than the similar indicator in Georgia and about the fourth part of its economy is occupied by the financial sector. These are the results that can be brought about by liberalization and goal-projected work for forming the financial center, – the prime minister asserted at the end of the meeting.
