OREANDA-NEWS. March 2, 2009. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov will make a working trip to Geneva on March 6-7.

On March 6, as mutually arranged, he will hold a bilateral meeting with US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton to discuss primarily the topical agenda of Russian-American relations in the context of preparations for the first meeting between the Russian and US Presidents, Dmitry Medvedev and Barack Obama, on the fringes of the G20 summit in London. The ministers are also expected to discuss a wide spectrum of international problems of mutual concern.

Slated for March 7 is Sergey Lavrov’s address at a plenary meeting of the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, to present Russia’s assessments of key problems in the fields of disarmament, WMD nonproliferation and arms control. In addition, the Minister will meet with the heads of the Geneva organizations of the UN system.
